Welcome to St. Joseph's College (Autonomous) Devagiri Library Our four-storied, full-fledged, fully automated library supports teaching, learning and research with a collection of 75,000 print documents including books on various subjects, study-aids for career guidance & competitive examinations, journals, periodicals and newspapers, and rare collections besides the digital repositories, featuring a dynamic blend of traditional and modern resources. Our services and facilities include reference section, digital library, human library, garden library, access.lib (space for the differently abled), open-access system, news house, room for video conference, reprographic centre (photostat, book-binding etc.), scanning desk, plagiarism check, OPAC (online public access catalogue), research hall, exclusive cubicles for research scholars, staff corner, rest rooms, coffee counter, conference halls and book tower. It is a green library—it features an abundance of green plants, creating a refreshing and serene environment for intellectual exercise. Visit our library and feel the difference!
Instructions to the Library-Users
1. Identity cards are compulsory to enter the library.
2. Scan your identity cards at the entrance.
3. Keep your belongings (books, bags, umbrellas, CD-ROMs, floppy disks etc.) in the property counter at your own risk.
4. Strict silence should be maintained in the library except in non-silent areas.
5. Food and drinks brought from outside are not allowed in the library.
6. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the library and its premises.
7. Talking over phone is not allowed in the library except in the areas meant for it.
8. Documents taken out of the shelves should not be replaced by you, because it may lead to misplacement of books. Leave them on the table nearby.
9. Library documents should not be taken out unless properly issued to you by the library staff.
IMPORTANT
▪ Library is a place for serious reading and research, and not a place for recreation or entertainment. Therefore, all the users of library are strictly instructed to behave becoming of a serious reader/researcher, while they are in the library or its premises. Talks over phone, tete-a-tete, table talks, combined study, group discussion etc are not allowed in the silent areas of the library.▪ Any seat in the library, big or small, including the window-seat where you can lie down and read, is meant only for one person at a time. It should never be occupied by more than one person at a time for any reason whatsoever.
NB: Non-compliance with any of these instructions will lead to disciplinary actions. Anyone found violating any of these instructions will get deprived of his/her ID card, and will not be allowed to enter the library thereafter
